XSL-FO is Another Way to Display XML

• XSL-FO is a vocabulary of tags into which XML can be translated
• XSL-FO software (a rendering engine) makes the display
  from those tags
• We know the vocabulary to make the print effect we want

  <fo:block>...</fo:block>
  <fo:inline font-style="bold">Wow!</fo:inline>
  <fo:inline font-style="italic">...</fo:inline>

(XSL-FO can describe more complex, sophisticated page layouts than HTML)
